SNOWBOARDING AND SKIING
"What better place could there be to test the finest
new snowboarding equipment than the Tignes Summer Park." SUK
Bible,
The snow park is situated on the Grand Motte
Glacier. The park contains a combination of kickers, tables,
hips, rails, boxes and beginner and advanced half pipes. The
Park & Pipes are
accessed by the Rosset T-Bar, and 2 small rope tows allowing
you to complete park laps in only a few minutes, even on busy
days. This gives you plenty of time to stick those backside 180's
or cab 7's. You may even see some of Europe's elite riders such
as Iker Fernandez, David Benedek, or Gian Simmons throwing down.
This years dates run from June 23rd to Sept
2nd 2007. We
are still awaiting prices but lift tickets will be some where
with in the region of €155 for 6 days riding (the
same price as 3 trips to freestyle nights at Xscape with way
more time to ride!).
Were all pretty excited about riding this
summer and we love to go up with the guests, that’s one of the main reasons
everyone keeps coming back. We are more than happy to help
out with helpful tips to make your riding progression smoother
and more stylish.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
"Tignes has a lot going for
it, it is a busy place with a real buzz, even in the summer." Dirt
Mountainbike Magazine”
Now in its 2nd summer, The Tignes Bike Park(in
taking with the popularity of North American resorts) has put
a lot of time and money into developing mountainbiking here
in Tignes. Karim Amour, former world downhill champion has
aided in designing the downhill courses and Bike Park (situated
behind the chalet!) and this years expansions include opening
the Palafour side of the mountain. Running
from the 1st July to the 26th August with a number of specially
built Downhill and X-Country courses of varying difficulty there
is something here for everyone. Prices range from: 1 day €16.5
to 6 days €41.5 (free for under 13s)
If you don’t have your own bike or
fancy a change from sunbathing in the afternoon then there
are plenty of good hire shops and guides. Please contact us
if you want more info on prices of bike hire and we will endeavour
to get you the best rental prices.
Dirt magazine also had this to say about
Tignes: "Everyone
should go ride somewhere like this. Good riding, good laughs
and beautiful views. There are plans for more tracks so things
can only get better"

OTHER ACTIVITIES
Tignes has close to 100 activities on offer in the summer. For
the thrill seekers not content with skiing, shredding or biking
there are: quads, moto x, white water rafting, ski jumps into
the lake, paraponting, Acroland: an assortment of trampolines
and bungees, tennis courts, volleyball, football and many other
activities.
One of the most appealing activities for
last year’s guests
was the new skate park imported directly from Basle where the
European Skate Board Cup was held. The 8th biggest park
in France with 12 features and a mini ramp the skate park allows
hours of entertainment all with in a minutes walking distance.
For the mountain enthusiast there are a multitude
of walks, climbs, and a must in our opinion for those with
a head for heights, why not try one of the fastest growing
sports: Via Ferrata in the nearby La Daille. Alternatively,
you can simply catch a lift with the aero ski or funicular
and enjoy some of the impressive panoramic views Tignes has
to offer. Situated around the
lake Tignes boasts Europe’s highest golf course, just watch
out for the marmots! The lake here provides the opportunity
for sailing, fishing, windsurfing and a great spot for a bbq
and a few ice cold beers at the end of the day. You can also
regenerate after a hard day in the newly built swimming pool,
while there are also a number of sauna’s, jacuzzi’s,
hamman’s, and gyms where hydro- massage is available.
